Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which is hereby also known as seasonal depression, which tends to surface when the crisp fall air sets in and lasts all the way through winter. Less sunlight and colder weather like or chilling weather can make it harder to get outside and stay active or sometimes alive, which leaves many of us feeling more isolated, low on energy, and even a little down.
But here’s the thing: you’re not alone in feeling this way. As the seasons change, so can our mental health. Let’s dive into why that happens and, more importantly, how you can take charge of your mood during the colder months.
As reported by the kbtx.com, Dr. Mary Ann Covey, a psychologist at Thrive works, defines the symptoms that have to be attended.
Slow down, you’re more tired, you’re just more lethargic, things aren’t as stimulating as they used to be, you have sleep issues, waking up in the morning can be a chore as observed by Dr. Covey.

She said that New Year’s Eve is also the finish of the vacation period and early January may not be so fun for some people and can affect mental health.
According to Dr. Vale Covey, in such a time, one should try to spend most of their time with people they love, mix around to enjoy the sunshine.
Walking outside is also alright if the weather permits, he said.
She said to those who claim of experiencing seasonal depression, or simply winter depression, to come up with goals for the year that are achievable so that you won’t feel more discouraged than you already are.

She said it is a great feeling to have someone to turn to because that person tells you more things that you can do to improve your situation and gives you a new perspective that you probably didn’t see.
